Canadian Brass Comes to the EKU School of Music

The Canadian Brass will present a free masterclass in room 300 of the EKU School of Music's Foster building on Wednesday, November 11 at 2:30 PM.  On Friday, November 13 they'll be performing a 7:30 PM concert at the EKU Center for the Performing Arts.  http://bit.ly/1L4ptx9

Two EKU Horn Students Receive Large Awards to Pursue Graduate Degrees

Andrew Sehmann and Kelsay Jones, members of the EKU Horn Studio, have received large scholarships to pursue their masters degrees in horn performance.  Andrew, a senior horn performance major from Richmond, KY has accepted a graduate assistantship position at The University of Georgia.  He will be studying with Jean Martin-Williams and performing with the graduate woodwind quintet.

New York Philharmonic Hornist to Present Free Masterclass

Leelanee Sterrett, Third Horn of the New York Philharmonic, will present a free masterclass on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 PM in room 300 of the Foster Music Building.

Three EKU Horn Students Selected for 2014 Kentucky Intercollegiate Orchestra

Three of the five horns selected for this year's Kentucky Intercollegiate Orchestra are from EKU, including principal horn Kelsay Jones who will be serving as principal for the second consecutive year.  In addition to Jones, EKU will be represented by Andrew Sehmann on 2nd and John Wiley on assistant principal.

2013/14 Kentucky All-State Horn Audition Recordings now available on the EKU Horn Studio YouTube Channel.

Recordings of both required horn excerpts for the 2013/14 Kentucky All-State horn audition have now been posted on the EKU Horn Studio YouTube Channel.  Recorded by Dr. Mick Sehmann, EKU's Professor of Horn, the videos are at the speed specified by KMEA and show music of the excerpts as they are being played.
