Three members of the EKU Horn Studio were selected to participate in prestigious music festivals this past summer.

Kellie Spoonamore, a sophomore hornist from Danville majoring in Music Education, attended the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy. The four-week program, held each summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, focuses on chamber music and allowed Kellie to play in a woodwind quintet made up of other instrumentalists from schools around the country.

Kelsay Jones, a junior hornist from Louisville majoring in Music Performance, was selected to attend the Eastern Music Festival. Held each summer in Greensboro, NC, the five-week festival concentrates on orchestral training and attracts students from top schools from throughout the United States.

Andrew Sehmann, a junior hornist from Richmond majoring in Music Performance, was selected for the prestigious Brevard Music Center Institute for the second consecutive summer. As a student in the seven-week orchestral studies program, Andrew worked with top professional hornists, internationally renowned conductors, and top music students from major music schools throughout the world.
